GEA将为英国最高的冷库供应氨制冷装置

GEA将向英国格兰瑟姆附近的伊斯顿提供两级氨制冷系统和32个空气冷却器,用于建造英国最高的冷库。
这个由英国领先的冷藏服务提供商之一Magnavale兴建的新冷库总投资1300万英镑,规模巨大,长150米、宽100米、高47米,可容纳101,000个托盘。
它将与Magnavale旗下的一座容量为44,000个托盘的现有冷库相邻。
这座高架冷库与一个35米长的远征区相连接,设有20个装卸码头,并提供两层增值服务。

GEA采用了一种定制方案,包括使用计算流体力学模拟,以展示基于冷湖原理设计的高架冷库内气流和温度分布。
氨制冷系统为两级,包括三台螺杆压缩机、三台往复压缩机和三台冷凝器,优化循环率。此外,高架冷库装有十个空气冷却器,装卸区安装了22个。
GEA螺杆压缩机用作低级增压压缩机,与GEA Grasso V系列往复压缩机搭配使用,以提高在部分负荷运行时的性能系数。

GEA to supply ammonia plant to UK’s highest cold store

UK/GERMANY: GEA is to supply a two-stage ammonia refrigeration system and 32 air coolers for the UK’s tallest cold store under construction in Easton, near Grantham, Lincolnshire. 

The new £130m cold store being built by Magnavale, one of the UK’s leading cold storage providers, measures 150m long x 100m wide x 47m high and will have a capacity of 101,000 pallets. It will be built next to an existing 44,000-pallet cold store, also owned by Magnavale, on the same site. 

The high bay coldstore interfaces with a 35m long expedition bay which has 20 loading docks. It is also supplemented with two floors for value added services.

Due for completion in late 2024, the facility will be fully automated and powered 100% by renewable energy. It will be used for cooling frozen food products. It is designed with the capability to reach -28ºC. 

GEA developed an individually-tailored solution, which included using CFD simulations to illustrate the air flow and temperature profile within the high bay cold store based on the cold lake principle design. 

The two-stage ammonia refrigeration plant with optimised circulation rate comprises three screw compressors, three reciprocating compressors and three condensers. 

In addition, ten air coolers are installed in the high-bay cold store and 22 in the loading bay area. 

The GEA screw compressors are employed as the low stage booster compressors, coupled with GEA Grasso V-series reciprocating compressors to take advantage of the reciprocating compressors’ enhanced COP at part load operation.
